Dear Members,
November has been an eventful month for the Chamber; The activity calendar began with the GCCI’s second Committee Conclave, where Chairpersons met with the Managing Committee members to discuss the progress of 15 committees and to conduct a formal review of tasks at hand.
The Taxation Committee conducted its first seminar after a gap of a year and a half due to the restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The seminar was conducted to explain to participants the concept of the E-way Bill, the various rules and regulations, and the changes over the last four years.
The Women’s Wing Committee celebrated International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day by conducting a workshop on Sustainable Packaging for women entrepreneurs. The workshop encouraged the participants to explore new opportunities in entrepreneurship by being sustainably conscious.
The GCCI Agriculture and Food Processing Committee and IT & Startup Committee are working towards a common goal of promoting the importance of good education and how it can benefit every individual. While the former has made a representation to resume the Food Technology Diploma Course at Govt. Polytechnic College, the latter has requested assistance in setting up a training institute to equip maximum youth to take employment benefits in the technology space. The Tourism Committee has been actively following up on the issue of restarting charter flights to Goa. The Chamber has also made a representation to Mr. Nitin Gadkari – Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways to bring to his kind attention issues being faced by the general public in Goa due to the poor construction of national highways in our State.
